About the Artist
Alina Tjutschev-Steinhörster was born in St.Petersburg in 1969.
The spiritual atmosphere of the town along with the splendour of its architecture and museum collections have become the source of her formation as an artist. She studied Art and History and in 1991 graduated from St.Petersburg State University, Faculty of History. In 2005 she graduated from german Hamburg Academy (Painting and Graphics Faculty). Starting from 2005 the artist is a member- exhibitor of "St.Petersburg Painters Guild", a public organisation. Further Alina works as an Instructor for drawing at the adult education school in Brunsbüttel, Germany. Working in the genres of landscape, still-life, portrait, subject painting, the artist strives to depict her dreams about the beauty of the world and harmony of nature. Alinas canvases are precise in terms of drawing and convincing in terms of colouring. She deems romanticism to be the trend in art closest to her mood, therefore she has created her own world - the world of "sad romanticism". The creative art is distinguished for sincerity, emotion, orginality, ability to see the complex nature of simple things, to make complicated things simple...
Her canvases cause nostalgia in us, make us dream. Many paintings are kept in private collections in Germany, Russia, France, Austria and Switzerland.
